2010 OH WHAT A YEAR...

2010 oh what a year...

2010 oh what a year
Lots of turmoil, unemployment and fear
For many this rollercoaster would never end
Wondering how their families would be left to fend

Our legislators seemed never to sit still
With lots of lying & cheating & draining our till
The spending piled up faster & faster
With health care & stimulus & god knows whatever

Everyday there seemed to be some sort of fight
With right vs. left & left vs. right
And in the middle of this tug of war there was
The American people full of anxiety & disgust

Disgust for the gov’t that once they had trusted
They sat helpless wondering if we’d all be busted
Loosing their homes & retirements and even their jobs
They waited for help from the Washington snobs

And then from the roots that make this country great
A new party emerged that would alter our fate
From the suburbs, cities & towns the TEA Party bus was rolling around
Concerned citizens for our fiscal future
They rallied & marched demanding a gov’t purer
Bring back sanity and less control
Let the people govern as once was told

So on a faithful day in November
The people spoke with a vote to be remembered
Take back the house and most of the senate too
They made Obama, Nancy & Harry very blue
A new breed of law-makers will soon take the hill
That brings new hope for the peoples will

So out of this hole I hope we can climb
A slow go I know it will take time
But with reduced spending and some tax cuts in place
American industry can step up the pace

Back to work the ranks need to be
So Americans can take care of their families
Off of the gov’t programs for their every need
So there will be less of them we need to feed
Contribute to society is an absolute must
If not the country we love will turn to dust…

May God Bless the United States of America!

LIBERALISM- THE PROMOTION OF A PEASANT SOCIETY!

Under the guise of really caring for the unfortunate in our society through entitlement programs the Liberals in reality have created the foundations of a “peasant society”. This likens to the days of the king and the serfs whereby the serfs were so dependent on the king for everything that they truly lost their drive to self-govern & seek individual success. This of course was exactly what the ruling class wanted since it afforded them the level of lifestyle they sought and perpetuated their ability to maintain power.

Now fast forward to today and compare the modern day rulers; (Obama, Pelosi & Reid), with their predecessors. You have programs in place that are designed to punish the entrepreneurial spirit, demonize those who have gained success and in theory limit the earning potential of many through the demand for higher taxes and a sea of “red-tape”. The results are that many businesses are becoming paralyzed by the uncertainty and are not reinvesting their profits to expand or create needed jobs since in most cases profits would be seen as “undo” rewards and confiscated through the “It’s not fair” doctrine.

So what is the mindset? It is one in which no new jobs are being created. Businesses are taking a wait and see approach and there is a fear of being viewed as “too successful” since you would either be penalized by higher taxes or demonized as a villain because you might have a little more than anyone else! The rule that is in play here is one that has been around for quite some time whereby the underlying goal is to make “everyone rich by making a few poor”; Or in other words “redistribution”.

Well that never works. History shows us that by taking that approach everyone becomes “poor”. The so-called rich lose their wealth and the poor, well they stay poor! Nobody wins except the ruling class. Just ask those people in Cuba who still drive their 1965 Buick's if this is working out for them. In theory it looks like the ruling class wants to help the less fortunate, or at least that’s what they say anyway, but the reality is that by taking this approach they inflict more harm upon them by condemning them to a life of unemployment, poverty & co dependence! You see it’s the “demonic” rich that are the ones who provide the majority of the jobs, except for the federal gov’t. whose ranks have been bloated by over 400k jobs since 2007. But that’s a story for another day.

So getting back to the “job creators”, these are made up of small to mid-sized businesses who through their own hard work and entrepreneurial successes have accumulated levels of wealth that have become the backbone of our society. This group is also one of the largest contributors of tax revenue to the federal gov’t. I believe that it is the top 10% of wage earners that produce 40% of the tax base in this country. The bottom portions of the population or 60% of the workers pay about 20% of the taxes and a staggering 40% of the US population pays nothing! And it is this 40% that garners about 80% of the gov’t entitlements and still wants more!

Now I’m no mathematical wizard but if you put a pencil to this it looks like the wealthy are paying their fair share and then some and also creating jobs in the process so that the lower 60% can work! But if the Obama administration has it their way the wealthy would lose their ability to create these jobs and most likely become unemployed themselves thus creating a “swell” at the bottom where perhaps 50-60% of the people do not contribute anything to tax revenue. So tell me again how this would be a good thing for the gov’t?

Look throughout this country’s existence it has always been the small business owners who have created products, invented things and driven the nation’s economy. So what if they have accumulated wealth and live accordingly. You can’t tell me that the “elitists” in Washington are living any differently. These people “are” the people they purport to hate! So if business owners are able to give back to others by putting them to work and keep the economic wheels-of-progress turning then so be it that we provide them a tax break. You see for the average American having a “PAYCHECK” is far better than a “TAX-BREAK”!

The way I see it is that throughout history there have always been classes in society. Nobody ever said it had to be fair. There is disparity in everything from sports to relationships. “One man’s cottage is another man’s castle”. If American families can continue to provide for themselves then we all win. So let’s stop looking at what everybody else has and stop whining about fairness and start concentrating on what you can do to improve your own situation by earning it!

Nobody said it would be easy- Life is tough- wear a cup! Sometimes another guy’s “piece of the pie” is bigger, deal with it and be thankful that you even got a piece.

Hopefully with the results of the mid-term elections we will be able to right this ship because God knows it’s been taking on water. Going into 2011 my hope is that we bring back a little “sanity” to how we govern by having some adults back at the “grown-up” table. For the last 22 months our future has been in the hands of “day-dreamers” & adolescents at the “kiddies table” who were trying every trick in the book to not eat their vegetables!

LIKE LEMMINGS TO THE SEA…

There are many natural phenomenons in our world and to the masses comes much puzzlement and intrigue. Two such unexplained phenomenons are why Lemmings; those cuddly little furry rodents indigenous to Norway and found in or near the Arctic, in tundra type climates, suddenly during migrations jump off cliffs in mass suicides.

Because of their association with this odd behavior Lemmings became notoriously famous and the subject of myth and metaphor in reference to people who go along unquestioningly with popular opinion, with potentially dangerous or fatal consequences. In most cases it does not appear to be a conscious action causing suicide but rather accidental mass death due to a “blinding” desire to follow the group! However in popular culture the alleged behavior is usually referred to as "mass suicide" and hence has come to be known as the "mass suicide myth". Or better known as the “Obama Syndrome”.

The second highly unexplained phenomenon is the election of Barack Obama! How in God’s name did such an inexperienced, far-left, socialist-radical come to lead what was the greatest nation on earth? I guess in looking at the behavior of the Lemmings one can see comparisons of how this came to pass.

When the herds get too big due to rapid reproduction which evaporates all of their food resources, they divide looking for new habitat and mass chaos ensues with Lemmings running in every direction with many killed or injured in the process. Blindly groups by the scores separate from the main-pack and follow a perceived leader. They’re not even sure he is the leader but just begin following him to where they do not know but they still follow. With only hopes of food and shelter in their new home they sometimes march for days on end. In some cases these groups do find a better place to live until the herd once again becomes too big and splinters off.
But in more cases than not the leaders are themselves overwhelmed with the chaos, not ready to lead and confused on the right paths to take which will benefit the group. In their hurry & hast they can lead them into areas filled with predators or habitats not conducive to sustain the herd and at the very worst lead them off cliffs to their deaths…which the majority of the herd never see coming because of their unconditional & unfounded trust placed in the leader.

Now there are many parallels which can be clearly seen between these two examples, hopefully the blinding faith and trust that many have placed in Obama will be exposed for the “sham” that it is and many lives spared. With the recent victory in Mass. it goes to show that the country is starting to wake up and snap out of the “stupor” that once griped it.

But with unemployment still looming large except for the addition of Gov’t jobs which for the first time since the depression have outnumbered product & service producing jobs. In fact, the average annual salary of “non-executive” level Gov’t jobs is $74,400.00, and when executive jobs get factored in jumps to a whopping $179K+! Now these are positions that are mainly support in nature and have no contribution to national GDP expect for having a “drag” on growth due to their expense.

If the recent snowstorms that hit DC show us anything & are any indication of the “fat” within the Gov’t ranks, over 240k “non-essential” workers stayed at home for 3 ½ days and the country still ran…I wonder how much of the money spent on those positions could be allocated to the private sector to put people back to work that actually produce something?

Of course there will always be those Lemmings that jump off the cliff because they follow the group…the good news is that most of them will be Liberals…

Progessives of the World Unite...

As our country continues to tumble recklessly out of control with raging debates of healthcare reform (oxymoron), un-sustainable spending and debt and jobless numbers soaring, many Americans (the ones who care anyway) are uneasy about where all of this will end up. We have our ideas and things ain’t lookin good…

Now to fully understand this whole mess, it might be helpful to recap how we got to this point and where those who are in charge of driving the bus would like to go. The roots of the Obama administration and many who hold seats in the house and senate comes from a movement starting in the late 1870’s called Progressivism.

The Progressive Movement was an effort to cure many of the ills of American society that had developed during the great spurt of industrial growth in the last quarter of the 19th century. The frontier had been tamed, great cities and businesses developed, and an overseas empire established, but not all citizens shared in the new wealth, prestige, and optimism.

Efforts to improve society were not new to the United States in the late 1800s. A major push for change, the First Reform Era, occurred in the years before the Civil War and included efforts of social activists to reform working conditions, and humanize the treatment of mentally ill people and prisoners. Many believed that they could set up “utopian” communities in which reforms were limited to their participants. Progressivism was rooted in the belief, certainly not shared by all, that man was capable of improving the lot of all within society. They would take small steps over time to set in motion changes that would “level the playing field” by taking wealth from many of the rich and powerful figures of the day.

Progressivism was also imbued with strong political overtones and rejected the church as the driving force for change. Specific goals included:

• The desire to remove corruption and undue influence from government through the taming of bosses and political machines;
• The effort to include more people more directly in the political process;
• The conviction that government must play a role to solve social problems and establish fairness in economic matters.

Urban problems were addressed by professional social workers who operated settlement houses (perhaps a model for early ACORN offices) as a means to protect and improve the prospects of the poor.

But one very interesting aspect of the Progressives was that the needs of blacks and Native Americans were poorly served or served not at all — a major shortcoming of the Progressive Movement. (A failure to protect and promote the needs of the very people they claim to care so much about, Um?)
Now fast-forward to 2009-10. Although some of the “social issues” like woman’s suffrage no longer apply, this crop of Modern-day Progressives still are trying and in some cases successfully impacting American life through the spread of their agenda. They live the life of entitlements, big government, big spending & the belief that the government alone should be the controlling entity in all of our lives. They claim to champion the cause of the less privileged yet they in fact through their elitist eyes look down upon the very people who support them just as the early European royalty did centuries before. They thrive on creating crises and flooding and overloading the “so-called” system in an attempt to break it down. Once broken, they believe that they and they alone will be able to impose the “social” change they deem important, transform our principles and create the socialist world they desire.

This is clearly evident when people like Nancy Pelosi refer to the US Constitution as “That very old piece of paper written a long, long time ago”.

Now she is right in that it was written a long, long time ago but that’s where it ends. “That very old paper” was created by the visionary “framers” of our nation and for over 230 years has held up to be more right than wrong! But yet the assault of free enterprise and economic growth by private sector companies and individuals is continued and anyone of “means” villianized. At every turn this administration is putting forth efforts to bankrupt the treasury and further burden the very people that built this nation. Healthcare if passed in its proposed form will add trillions to our national deficit raise the cost of insurance premiums and limit coverage. Cap & Trade will only make everything in our lives much more expensive because this bill will force manufacturers to pay more for production, goods & services which they in turn will pass along to the consumer. (Yes You & Me).

And if you believe for one minute that the healthcare bill is about healthcare please wake up. This action is all about the biggest power-play in American history. A move to the Gov’t controlling individual lives, businesses, financial entities and what we can and can’t use and buy, i.e. light bulbs. All of this points to securing the future of the “ruling class” and enabling them to further their power!

They will stop at nothing to advance their liberal agenda and have even used our
public school system which already was a haven of like-minded individuals sympathetic their cause to launch programs like the National Organizing Internship.
This is a program sponsored by Organizing America which lists as its main objectives:

(1) organize support for President Obama’s policy agenda, and (2) build and strengthen the grassroots organization we built during the 2008 campaign by training and empowering people to have an impact in their own communities. The most important thing OFA does is build support for and educate citizens about President Obama’s policies for change.

The week one reading assignment is “Rules for Radicals” by Saul Alinsky…just what all of America’s youth need to read!

I think similar programs were used in 1939 Berlin…and I think we know how that turned out!

Sharing is Not Always a Good Thing...

From the beginning of time there have always been socio-economic classes within society. Let’s say the “Haves & the Have-Not’s”. The struggle & differences between them has always been at the core of many a battle to level the playing field. Take for example the following tale:

In 1,ooo,ooo B.C. there was UG the caveman who lived in his comfortable and spacious cave high atop a mountain, safe from predators and the elements. From his cave he sees the ocean & the valleys below. UG was a hard worker who had acquired superior hunting skills and was always able to provide food from fresh kills for his family. He had ample stores of wood and kept the cave warm & homey. He was married to Raquel Welsh who he kept in the finest furs so she could look her best.

Now at the bottom of the mountain lived THUG. His cave was quite smaller and not as warm and comfy since every time it rained it flooded as the water washed from above. THUG too was married but his wife had to join him on outings to gather wood and set traps for small game so they could eat. She wasn’t very attractive and on some days resembled a Triceratops. THUG wasn’t much for the hunting thing and in fact wasn’t much for putting forth effort with anything. But each day he would see UG returning from a hunt with a fresh kill for dinner and stare with envy on why he was living so well and THUG wasn’t. He would say, I deserve to be eating fresh meats & have warm furs and ample wood for fire. Maybe UG should share some of his stuff with me so that I too can enjoy life!

So THUG went to go see the local Tribal Organizer at BUTTERNUT and complained about UG having so much and he so little. The organizer agreed with THUG and said that UG didn’t deserve all he had and that he should give some away. If he didn’t want to then they would just force him to do so by levying large burdens on him based on the amount of food & wood he had accumulated. They would make it so that UG couldn’t afford to live in his mountain-top cave and move down to the bottom with all the others. His wife would also be forced to work to help the family and over time her beauty would also fade.

Now UG & THUG were equals and both struggling each & every day to provide for their families. UG’s life was worse and THUG’s life no different than before. How did this happen they wondered? And now each day both of them watched in amazement as the Tribal Organizer who had since moved into UG’s spacious cave high atop the mountain stayed warm, ate well and wore the finest furs!

And so began the “Progressive” movement…

It was so easy even a caveman could do it!!!
