Where can we learn how to "Goose-Step"?

Back in February, I commented on Obama's attack on CEO Comp (see full content in blog list to refresh your memory), and it sparked some criticism from some of the other local inhabitants of the 30022 zip code as being too far fetched and off target as I lamented on the expanding power being sought by the Obama team.

At the time, I questioned their motives to control private business and limit income potential. If I recall, I was chided for my comments that perhaps we should not teach our children to aspire for unbridled success since it seems that under such a plan ceilings on their achievement would be imposed. And I was also reminded that it had nothing to do with sales or motivation by all about accountability!

Now today, not more than 3 weeks later the Secretary of the Treasury went before a congressional panel to ask for unprecedented power so sweeping that it would virtually reach directly into the private business sector and could at their desire seize financial and physical assets of such companies, review compensation structures and even limit at their discretion any salary & bonus payments that they deemed to be disproportionate!

Now please tell me again how this kind of thought process differs from let's say 1950-60's Russia or Cuba or Communist China of today?

The argument I'll hear will be that it is only the financial institutions that will fall under this sweeping legislation since they pose the greatest threat to the economy.

Yeah to start with! But where will it stop? The financial sector is the core of all other business function. Without free markets within this sector and a business's ability the leverage debt stymied, it won't be long for the whole thing to come tumbling down.

And at the root of all of the control will be the Govt. They will mandate how and where we conduct business and what we are "allowed" to earn & save. Without wealth and the access to wealth the MASSES will be powerless. And without power and the wealth to sustain it, they will have no choice but to fall in line under the Govt.

Now tell me again what this is called...I seem to be at a loss!!!
(figuratively & financially)

Barry vs the Media

Say it's not so...could the very media who did all they could to the get their boy elected be getting a bit skeptical & frustrated with the round-about long-winded responses they are receiving at press conferences? And could Barry be getting a bit un-nerved by their assault to the point where he has mocked them? How Presidental!

Is the love-affair showing signs of strain? Have they moved to separate twin beds yet?

You know he was praised by some wacko left-wing group for the "beat-down" he issued to one of the reporters who ruffled his feathers. Where are the days when the media was encouraged to "nail" the president and do all they could to trip him up? Or throw shoes at him...Oh that was a Bush press conference. Somehow the rules of the game have changed when there is a Lib in the hot-seat! Its ok for them to throw rocks (or shoes or BS) but how dare someone throw any back...

You know Obama has been on every news outlet he could as many times as he could and all the time his mouth is moving...but nothing is coming out! Nothing of substance and reality that is...

Wonder-Boy Under Fire!

Given the recent brouhaha over the AIG bonuses, "Wonder-Boy" Tim Geithner has fallen under harsh criticism and scrutiny of how much and when he knew of these "contractually-Guaranteed" payouts for unsuccessful AIG execs; with some even calling for his resignation!

Now his defenders are quick to come to his aid indicating that it was under Bush that the original money was paid out to AIG (haven't we heard this somewhere before?) But what they craftily leave out is that it was Geithner and not Paulson who orchestrated the whole AIG bailout from the start. His allies also state that he is the "ONLY" one who really understands the TARP program so who else can we get to run it? After all look how smart he is! Yet I guess not smart enough to understand the tax code so that he could pay his own taxes...

And isn’t a little scary that out of all the successful people in our country he is the only one smart enough to do this job???

Now I'm not defending the AIG slugs that paid and received $165mm of our money for failed performance. I think they should be publicly flogged and made to have their next corporate outing at Gitmo.

But the truth is that this has been a comedy of errors with no signs that any of this bailout or Tarp has even worked. Most of the money given with no strings attached by the way, has gone overseas for other investments and has done little to stimulate the economy, ease lending markets, create jobs or really stabilize any of these so-called companies too big to fail! I liken some of this to the dot-com days when we measured companies not by their growth but more so by how fast their “burn-rate” was of cash infused by outside sources. And yet we kept pouring it in.

Now after all of this money has been unconditionally given and distributed the Congress is all of a sudden up in arms “Oh how did this happen?” what a travesty! The real travesty here is that these SOB’s are still in office! How many times are we going to let these idiots turn the other way on allowing things to happen and then come back and try to make themselves look good by trying to fix a problem they caused that most likely could have been avoided or at best handled differently? Now they’re calling for the return of the bonuses or even a 1000% tax on them to recoup the money!

Again I’m not defending AIG or the bonuses. They were given an opportunity and they took advantage of it. Sort of like when Franklin Raines restructured his comp plan at Fannie Mae under the watchful eyes of Chris Dodd & Barney Frank and walked away with a cool $91mm in 6 years! Now I didn’t hear talk of recouping or overtaxing that money!

And now Barney Frank has the “balls” to come on TV and get critical of AIG! Does this man not own a mirror? Perhaps we should send him one so that he could really see what a criminal looks like!

The Blame Game...

Over the last few days on various news outlets including Atlanta's own AJC (The Al-Jezzera Constitution), there have been bold headlines reading "OBAMA'S NEW STRATEGY: BLAME BUSH".

Now I am concerned on at minimum 2 fronts. 1st, how is this "NEW" news worthy of front page and homepage publication? This is kind of like the revelation a few years back when all of a sudden it was news that nicotine was addictive and harmful to the body!

DA, Hasn't this been the tact taken by Obama and his band of merry men from even before day one? And in addition have you ever known or heard of a liberal taking accountability for anything, unless of course they saw it as a benefit to them and then they claim they invented it!

I'm surprised it hasn't made headlines that the Obama's found a "floater" in one of the toilets at the White House (we can still call it that can't we) and they traced it back to "W". Can't wait til MTV does a segment of "CRIBS" on it!

Anyway what I'm seeing and it doesn't surprise me is that this administration is filled with a bunch of "sub-operatives" hell bent on deflecting any all scrutiny of their activities by setting off "smoke-bombs" to cover their tracks. (So much for transparency in Govt.) First it was the Rush Limbaugh stuff and now it's "Look at the mess we were left to clean-up by Bush".

wah-wah-wah!

At what point are these spineless excuses for civil-servants going to take some ownership? Oh wait a minute I had a moment of rational thought there and actually believed that they might do something admirable and might I add ethical...silly me.

The other point NOT making news is that we are going on how many? 4-5 cabinet nominees that can't figure out that not paying taxes is illegal! Now I don't really care on an individual basis who pays or doesn't pay, hopefully the IRS watches that, but what burns my butt is the "turn the other way" attitude towards unethical & deceitful behavior and how it has become an acceptable norm.

What's that old phrase about "Birds of a Feather"....

Anybody having "voter remorse" yet? Wish we had a program in place like when you get a loan and have a "Right to Rescind" period!!!

Just Keep Watching...

Now Isn't That Special....

Officials: Taliban ops chief once held at Gitmo
By PAMELA HESS – 13 hours ago
WASHINGTON (AP) — Abdullah Ghulam Rasoul, formerly Guantanamo prisoner No. 008, was among 13 Afghan prisoners released to the Afghan government in December 2007.

He is now known as Mullah Abdullah Zakir, a nom de guerre that Pentagon and intelligence officials say is used by a Taliban leader who is in charge of operations against U.S. and Afghan forces in southern Afghanistan.
Rasoul is the latest example of a freed detainee who took a militant leadership role and a potential complication for the Obama administration's efforts to close the prison.

U.S. authorities handed over Rasoul to the Afghan government, which in turn released him, according to Pentagon and CIA officials. The officials, who spoke anonymously because they are not authorized to release the information, said Rasoul has joined a growing faction of former Guantanamo prisoners who have rejoined militant groups and taken action against U.S. interests. Pentagon officials have said that as many as 60 former detainees have resurfaced on foreign battlefields.

Pentagon and intelligence officials said Rasoul has emerged as a key militant figure in southern Afghanistan, where violence has been spiking in the last year. Thousands of U.S. troops are preparing to deploy there to fight resurgent Taliban forces.
One intelligence official told the Associated Press that Rasoul's stated mission is to counter the U.S. troop surge.

Although the militant detainees who have resurfaced were released under the Bush administration, the revelation underscores the Obama administration's dilemma in moving to close the detention camp at Guantanamo and figuring out what to do with the nearly 250 prisoners who remain there.

In one of his first acts in office, President Barack Obama signed an executive order to close the jail next year. The order also convened a task force that will determine how to handle remaining detainees, who could be transferred to other U.S. detention facilities for trial, transferred to foreign nations for legal proceedings or freed.

Please tell Obama the Campaign is Over!

Everytime I hear or see Obama give a speech they sound just like the ones we heard all through the campaign. Will someone please tell him that the campaign is over and he won...And why is he making so many trips to give these speeches, its unheard of for a new president to be doing this much traveling in the first 2-3 months of his term.

Perhaps that's all he knows how to do? Give speeches with "hollow" promises from a teleprompter instead of taking the lead on really fixing some of this mess. I don't know but perhaps his lack of "true" battle experience is starting to show?

"Hey I might have to really deal with something that might expose me"...ROAD-TRIP!!!

STIMULI

STIMULI
2-10-2009

Well I started to listen to the President last night but my eyelids won the battle of good and evil. So, I had to rely on some of my trusted correspondents in the field (Jack) to fill in the blanks.
In short (and I’m paraphrasing here), Obama made some statements to the effect the “The American people got ourselves into this …and now we have to rely on the government to get them out of it”…

Uhm…I guess we should publicly flog ourselves for being so irresponsible and causing all of this…because the Congress had no hand in it at all…because their hands were too busy filling their pockets!!!

Well anyway, when do we start to be fitted for those non-descript suits and flip-flops we will all be required to wear? I sure hope they come in other colors besides DRAB GREEN AND DRAB GREY?

Peace…Comrades…

THE GLASS IS ALWAYS 1/2 EMPTY- AND IT'S SOMEONE ELSES FAULT!

THE GLASS IS ALWAYS 1/2 EMPTY- AND IT'S SOMEONE ELSES FAULT!

Did anyone see the “Obama Mini-series” last night? Why is it that all the democrat’s do is portray doom and gloom in everything? So these people were struggling. No more than a lot of people I know including myself. Yet I don’t blame it on George Bush or the government. I just look at ways to improve myself and my situation.

Who I do blame it on is elitist “pin-heads” like Obama and Barney Frank who put money in their own pockets at the expense of others and then has the audacity to blame it all on somebody else. Wait why am I shocked, that is the Liberal way!

If the Messiah was so concerned with putting money in peoples pockets (other than his own), maybe he shouldn’t be spending $600 million on his campaign compared to $84 million on the McCain side. And give some of it to the people in his video. $600 mil could buy a lot of snacks for the kids! Or maybe Obama and Michelle shouldn’t be eating lobster and Iranian caviar for lunch like they did a week or 2 ago!

“IT’S GOOD TO BE THE KING”!

Misc. Items That Bug Me!

Misc. Items That Bug Me!

$700 billion dollars- You know I’ll admit that I’m not the smartest guy out there but certainly far from the dumbest. Probably more street-smart than book-smart on several fronts but for the life of me, I can’t figure out what Congress just did or plans to do with the $700 billion dollars we will have to pay for? What exactly is their plan for this funding? Can someone please explain it?

It appears to me that all they did was look like they had to react to something by “stealing” our money and passing this bill. God for bid they were a little proactive when it came to protecting the American people and economy. They certainly were when it came to re-structuring bonus plans so that they could line their pockets with millions while driving companies into the ground, or accepting record contributions or “sweet-heart” mortgage deals, positioning gay lovers into key director roles at government run agencies or rejecting any attempt to address these issues that would expose them for the greedy-sorry-asses they are!

Hurricane Ike- is it just me or has anyone else noticed the lack of media coverage for all of the devastation in Texas caused by hurricane Ike? When Katrina hit New Orleans all we heard about was all of the damage and who caused it and how the federal government didn’t do enough to avoid it, fix it and prevent it from ever happening again for months and months….we saw pictures splashed all over the news of looting and other horrific acts. Why is it that the same coverage doesn’t apply here and the State of Texas is doing all of the clean-up on their own?

Liberals & Religion- What’s up with the Liberals always panning religion? Are there no Liberals who attend church or try to put God into their own or their children’s lives? Instead they come up with sound-bite gems like “all Republicans cling to their bibles and their guns”. What nit-wit is responsible for that intellectual statement? If it were true, there would probably a few less Liberals out there because we would open our bibles to say a prayer before we put a “cap in their ass” for making such idiotic statements.

And what about Bill Maher with his new anti-religion movie? Is it just me or is anyone else out there repulsed by the mere sight of him and feels the uncontrollable urge to just smash his face!

Bill Ayers- Can someone tell me why this guy is not in prison? Instead he is lauded as an intellectual and esteemed member of Chicago-Illinois University so that he can continue to mold the minds of college students into the same far-left radical nuts like him. This may be a stretch but how is this type of training any different than the Al-Qaeda training camps in Afghanistan? You know when you look closer, this may be more dangerous since these people are already imbedded in our country and can eat at our principles from within…kind of like a cancer!

Obama- I don’t have a problem with him being of African-American decent, like I don’t have a problem with women leading nations. History has shown that many women have been very successful leading nations. My “rub” is that Obama’s views and doctrine are a breath away from the “socialist handbook”. Despite his lack of “true” experience and the fact that during his brief term in the US Senate he really hasn’t done anything of tangible measure, I really question his judgment and accountability when it comes to his associations with the likes of Bill Ayers & Jeremiah Wright. If he claims to be so mainstream and in touch with the ordinary American public, I would like to ask all of you to look at the views of the 2 people mentioned who he so closely aligns himself with, (until it became un-popular to do so), and say do these people share the views of anybody I know? I don’t think so. So, does that mean that we are out of touch with the overall beliefs of mainstream America? Obama is a bright and articulate guy who is extremely likable and can convey a message. Unfortunately his message is pretty hollow and nothing new from the typical liberal mantra (Dems for the poor- Reps- for the big business). You know if these guys are so against big business then why have so many of them profited from it?

Getting back to Obama’s ability to deliver a speech. He’s pretty good, but the last time I looked good speeches didn’t translate into accountable actions that will benefit this nation. I’m not completely sure that McCain is the answer either, but I sure hope that the majority of the people can look beyond the good speeches and hollow promises to start holding these politicians accountable. Unfortunately, my fear is that most of the people won’t take the time to educate themselves and make an uninformed decision based on what they perceive is a great looking package…have you ever opened a present that was wrapped in pretty paper with bows and told yourself that something so nice on the outside must have something great on the inside only to find out it wasn’t so? Look at all the bows Obama is wearing!

AIG- It has just come to light that after the US government (you and me) bailed out AIG to the tune of $85billion to keep them out of bankruptcy; these yahoos went on a “junket trip” to a California spa and spent a few hundred thousand dollars! When was the last time you were at a spa and could spend that much when you couldn’t pay your bills? These guys should go to jail…

Debate Hosts- Not sure that the choices thus far of debate moderators have been un-biased. It appears to me that they all have been from the main-stream liberal media and have had the latitude to sway some issues to their liking. I will say that Gwen Ifill did a good job on the VP debate although she is writing a book on Obama that she didn’t disclose prior to the debate. I was concerned with Tom Brokaw’s performance last night. The fact that he hand-selected the line of questioning and seemed to interject his own personal points I feel favored Obama. In a town hall setting, there was much more that they could have done to make the line of questioning more broad-based and personal so that we could really see the candidates. Why can’t we see a Brit Hume or Bill O’Reilly moderate one of these things? Do ya think it would raise a little uproar on the Libs side? Either way, I’m not really sure McCain did what he needed to. Maybe it’s his delivery but I felt that he came off as desperate while Obama was his usual cool self, even though what he says is BS!

Obama’s appeal- The question I have been asking myself is what are the real reasons of Obama’s appeal? Is Obama so popular because of himself or has he benefited mainly from the left’s hatred of George Bush? Like I mentioned earlier, he is a likable guy and a good orator, but are these loons who support him so blinded by their rage and dislike of everything Bush that they will turn to anything whether it’s good or not without really looking under the hood.

(Remember that nicely wrapped package?)

Powerful quotation from Thomas Jefferson

You know Thomas Jefferson was pretty smart guy...He once said....

"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation.

You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."

Ode to 2008…

Ode to 2008…

So now we’ve come to the end of ‘08
And I can honestly say it wasn’t that great
With war still raging on foreign fronts
And our congress jockeying with political stunts

But the American people they trotted on
Unaware that soon to come were other bombs
The houses they owned were soon too expensive
With interest rates & payments becoming increasingly intensive

The builders kept building but no one would buy
And soon the banks said the money went dry
So to the wayside they went one by one
Until it reached the point of virtually none

But still we moved on with most of us not knowing
That the real monster was still growing
We watched our money begin to shrink
And started to realize, hey something stinks

First it was the gas close to $5.00 we paid
Waiting in lines we hoped and prayed
Oh please don’t run out before I get my fill
Because I know I need it more than Country Club Jill
So at 3am we pumped when ever we could
Paying a crazy price but still feeling good

And for 2 weeks in July we put our worries aside
Watching from Beijing how sporting worlds collide
With Michael Phelps the records did fall
To our amazement 8 in all

And still moving on through the summer & fall
We turned our attention to a political call
The campaign for president was taking center stage
Filled with corruption, lies, passion & rage
The Libs made up stories the Republicans too
And we all wondered which were false & which were true
Obama was mesmerizing & Palin was cute
McCain & Biden dull… but who knew
So with Fox News playing 24/7
Our emotions ran the gamut from hell to heaven

And when in November when it was all done
It saddened me to think that the other team won
So now we can wait to see what the brother will do
And only hope that he can get it straight & pull us through

With bailouts, scams & CEO thieves
I think its time for everyone to roll up their sleeves
To put some common sense back into our lives
And realize that only we can help ourselves thrive
They blamed Bush and his policies for all of this mess
But the truth is it’s the congress that needs to confess

So to 2009 we all go
And a lot of us with little to show
Some looking for work others just trying to recoup
But listen up good because here is the scope
Stay focused on your target
Because this too shall pass
Even though at times it’s a real pain in the ass

So to keep marching on is what we all do
Because as Americans that is our only truth…

God Bless America

Washington and Wall street "fatcats"

The truth of all this is that the Washington and Wall street "fatcats" are to blame on both sides of the aisle. This has been coming since the Clinton years when we were so-called prospering and started to steam roll post 9/11 when the Bush administration was forced to spend so much to defend our freedom. How do you bankrupt a company like Lehman bros. and walk away with $45mm? (Good gig if you can get it!)

Frankly I was a bit annoyed this week (more than usual), to hear all of the liberal "experts" quickly and decisively point their crooked fingers at the Bush administration for all of this mess. What they seem to forget is that for the last 2 1/2 years the Dems have controlled the senate and congress and have done nothing to put check points in place to head off this disaster. Instead they spent the majority of their time fighting every move and counter move from Bush on issues that hurt and not help the "little" people they profess to care about. They spent more time making sure that terrorists at Gitmo had proper legal counsel & their rights were not violated. Rights---what rights? Even if they had any, the minute they picked up a weapon and pointed it at this country they lost them all. Or to make sure that illegal aliens were protected on mine and your dime!

The bottom-line is that for years the liberal mantra has been that they are for the working class and not big business like the Republicans. What have they really done for the working people? It is the biggest scam ever. They are all blinded by the mantra and can't really see the facts that the liberals have done nothing for them. It's the best sales-job (snow-job) in history. Especially with Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reed leading the charge!

Now under the Obama doctrine he is going to fix it all. This is the same person who is quick to condemn everyone else but also had plenty of opportunity as a member of the senate to bring about the so-called change he has promoted so loudly as the pillars of his platform but like all of his hot-aired friends did nothing. What change?

Such is the way of the liberal philosophy; take no accountability of anything unless it appears to be good, then say you invented it! Several years ago I was told a line that I feel sums up the entire liberal platform. I wish I had originally said it but I can't take credit for it.

But while speaking with a colleague about sports and politics one day he framed the entire liberal movement as follows: "If life were a baseball game, the liberals fell asleep...woke up on 3rd base and really thought that they hit a triple". Think about it.

The Country that was!

The Country that was!
11-3-2008

On the eve of the biggest political event of our adult lifetime, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little worried. I’m worried that there are far too many un-informed people out there who will cast their vote on emotion and not facts. Worried that they didn’t take the time to really grasp what is at stake and how their lives will be affected in a negative way by making the wrong choice. I’m worried that either way the vote turns out; there will be issues to deal with in our day to day lives the likes of which our generation has not had to deal with.

I believe that the American people are a strong and resilient group that in time will deal with adversity and find ways to prosper. But in the short run, I don’t think that we deal with adversity as well as we should given the fact that for the most part the majority of us have not had to!

If the mini-gas crisis we just had is any indication then I think we failed. I know we all have issues with kids and money and other things that life throws at us but in reality those issues pale in comparison to other cultures that have to deal with gas issues and food issues and clean water and housing each and every day. Or closer to home those poor folks on the Texas coast who lost everything and still are living without.

You know it’s been said before how fortunate we are in America and how we take so much for granted for what we have access to on demand in every aspect of our lives. It’s only until those things are taken away or we have to go through more paces to get them that we realize the inconvenience and yet we still complain!

I am fortunate to still have my 86 year old father who lived through and endured 2 of the largest socially-impactful events in US history. The great depression and World War II. He has shared with me the issues this country faced during those times but until recently, did I really grasp the magnitude of hardship and uncertainty the American people faced.

Many on the other side of my views (and you know who you are) clamor about how in 2000 the government had a surplus and now 8 years later we have a deficit double in size. They make it seem that the Bush administration just arbitrarily spent the money. What they fail to factor in are the effects of that fateful day in Sept. 2001 when our world as we knew it changed forever. The cost of war both financially and in man power. The cost of rebuilding 2 nations so that those citizens can experience some of what we are privileged to; Schools, hospitals, utilities, food & freedoms. And yet life here in America has gone on with very little interruption to these individuals lives.

I know we are all Americans and should come together for the greater good but it still galls me a little that for the last 8 years the other side couldn’t do that. In fact they spewed more hatred than can be humanly imaginable and now on the eve of a possible win for their “savior” we are being asked to stand behind him and give him a free-pass! Where was this mutual respect over the last 8 years? Love or hate George Bush, nobody deserves the BS he has endured as a person from the leftist wackos. These people have absolutely no respect for anything or anybody who doesn’t share their views.

Somehow getting behind an Obama administration will be like Lemmings to the ocean!

The "Historic Event"

The "Historic Event"

As I sit in anticipation of tomorrow’s “historic event”, (I wish I had a dollar for every time I heard that in the last month ½), I am worried that I may not have gotten the correct incense & myrrh to lie at the messiah’s feet during his “IN-CORONATION”.

The love-fest for this man is scary and “cult-like”. From the media to the celebrities to the “Jones-Town” masses I have never seen such a phenomenon of blind faith and admiration with so little substance to base it on. And I also can’t understand the opposite phenomenon of rabid Bush haters that we have seen over the last 8 years. This once again reared its ugly head for me today. As I scuttled about from one end of the city to other in my attempts to earn a living, I had the opportunity to ride behind a $40,000 Lexus SUV that bore the sticker “WOMEN FOR OBAMA”. Now this in itself was not new or unique to me as I have seen the tee-shirts with “Mama for Obama”, and the beanie hats with similar banter, but this one was unique because of the efforts its owner put forth to convey their message.

This one had the “W” crossed through only to leave the remaining letters which spelled “OMEN”. Now as I repressed my immediate thoughts of running them into on-coming traffic so that they could die a fiery death for their stupidity and disrespectful deed I simply felt sorry for them that their hatred for a man that has kept their sorry asses safe for the last 7 years and afforded them the luxury of the $40m Lexus! I then studied the sticker further and realized that the remaining word of “OMEN” reminded me of a previous writing of mine where I compared the whole Obama thing to the horror movies of the 70’s most closely Damien. (For those unfamiliar with the movie, it is the 3rd chapter of the “Omen” series where Damien is the son of the devil and is put in line for the presidency of the United States). Do you see where I’m going with this?

Anyway, tomorrow’s event is unbelievable. How is this any different than any other inauguration? Aren’t they all “historic” events as we begin an era of new leadership for our country? Now is it the minority thing or the socialist thing that makes it so historic? I don’t remember any uttering of historic events when Clarence Thomas became the first black man selected to the Supreme Court. In fact, what I do remember is how the Libs tried everything they could to discredit him as a black man because his views differed from theirs!

One bright spot for me this week was having the honor to listening to “W’s” last address. Agree or disagree with all he has done the one thing you can’t argue is that the man is a class-act. From the way he treated the Obama’s on their visit to the White House to how he has handled the entire transition of power is head and shoulders above how the Clinton’s handled it 8 years ago. In fact, I think that all of the White House furniture is still intact! My only disappointment with his final address it that he just didn’t drop-trough right there to really show them the “W”! You know I’m not sure anybody would have faulted him if he did seeing all of crap this man has taken on a personal level during his term. After all the last president had extra-marital sex in the Oval Office so what’s a little mooning?

Getting back to the “IN-CORONATION”, I’m not sure that they can bring in enough of the “cool-aid” for the masses to drink to keep them in their psychotic stupor. The last I heard the Somali pirates had seized a tanker full of it and are asking for ransom. They stopped taking oil tankers since nobody really cared or paid the ransom. The cool-aid has much more street value anyway!

Do You see a Pattern Here?

Do You see a Pattern Here?

I’m no tax expert nor am I the smartest guy out there and I know that every time I bring something up or question the “goings-on’ around our new president; a lot of you say “Oh there he goes again with his slanted “right-wing” Obama hater views”. But this is more a matter of common sense and basic right and wrong. It just seems that everyone that Obama has “tagged’ to be in his cabinet has some sort of baggage involving unpaid taxes or illegal house help or perks that somehow have been forgotten to be disclosed until during the vetting process that cleared up their amnesia!

Now I know that this type of stuff goes on with all parties and I’m not saying that the republican leadership in Washington is any better. In fact, you have heard me on more than one occasion say that we should throw them all out and start over. But I guess my dismay comes from the point that even when these wrong-doings are discovered, everyone quickly turns the other way and makes it ok and accepted with excuses of “he didn’t know” or “she forgot” or “he didn’t have to know what the law was and oh by the way look how experienced he is”.

I wonder if those would hold up during anyone’s next IRS audit. I guess my point is that when did it become the “norm” for unethical and immoral practices to be ok? Especially with our elected officials?

Why are these people given a free pass just because we chose to put them in the positions they hold in spite of how smart or experienced they claim to be. And we wonder why our country is in a mess. I must have cut class that day when they taught that as long as you appear to be smart you can break the law! The funny thing is that these people who are being selected aren’t even honest with each other or the Obama team until well after the vetting process starts and only then “kicking and screaming” they divulge the truth. You would think that if that had any RESPECT for our new president or their party, they would remove themselves or not accept the appointment to save him some embarrassment.

Oh I forgot “Silly Rabbit Tricks are for Libs”!

CEO COMP

CEO COMP

I just read a blip on my MSN homepage about how Congress trumped Obama and wrote in additional sanctions on limiting CEO pay. I guess we are also putting limits on how successful people can become? Isn’t that what their really saying?

Now I’m not for all of the high-priced payouts that have occurred on Wall Street and with the financial sector as a whole especially when companies have under performed or gone completely belly up. It makes my blood boil to hear all of the disproportionate compensation packages failed CEO’s have garnered. I’ve spent most of my adult life in some sort of sales capacity and know first hand that if you didn’t “make your numbers” you didn’t get rewarded. And as painful as that can be in some cases, I’m ok with it because for the most part the burden of failure or lack of sufficient achievement somehow rested with me. (Oh I guess that means that I have to take accountability for my actions or lack thereof…how novel). The up side though was that the opportunity to get there was available! Having managed sales teams all over the country, I know for a fact that the “kiss of death” on performance is capping potential earnings.

When that occurs you get just what you asked for…people perform only up to the levels set forth and not one point higher. Its human nature you know. We all want to feel rewarded for our efforts even if they’re sometimes unattainable.

I can understand what I think they are trying to do and in some cases it does make sense. But it’s a thin line they tread. This country was built on people feeling that they had the opportunity to achieve and succeed with no restrictions on how far they could grow. Why now is it viewed as a crime to be successful? It’s almost like there is an all-out assault on anybody who’s achieved anything more than anybody else and they have to feel guilty for it. What they fail to realize is that these “successful” people are the ones who have created companies that create jobs that create livelihoods for the “vanishing middle-class”. I don’t remember seeing any job ads placed by Sammy the Crack-head for his burgeoning pharmaceutical supply company!

I guess the lesson here is that we need to start teaching our children that aspiring to achieve is the wrong path and that believe it or not even when the sky looks wide open they’ll soon bang their heads on the ceiling they can’t see! You see in this world controlled by big government, being better than anybody else is a crime.

Instead of teaching the down-trodden masses to be more self sufficient or attempt to better themselves by working their way out of their lowly situations, I guess it makes more sense to bring down the ones that have achieved so that everyone is equally suffering. Now what page of the handbook did that come from?

Anyway, as President of my own company, I am worried that I too might be targeted as having too much and fall under these limits of CEO compensation. I am fearful that my tennis shoe collection may be viewed as disproportionate compensation and therefore distributed to those only wearing flip-flops! They’re mostly size 10-1/2 so let me know your size so that I may be able to do my part as the “good soldier”!

big red train ...

On Thursday as I sat at my desk at the world-wide headquarters of Digital Vision CCTV, LLC, I was listening to President Obama give a speech from the Caterpillar home office. (Well it all depends on how you define listening?) It was more like BLAH-BLAH-BLAH-STIMULIS…BLAH-BLAH-BLAH-NANCY PELOSI…BLAH-BLAH-BLAH-BLAH… and then he made the next statement which all of a sudden perked my antenna.

During his talk of spending our money he said “it is the government’s responsibility to manage the American people’s level of knowledge”. Now let’s think about that, manage the American people’s level of knowledge. What does that really mean? It has a real Orwellian sound to it. Does it mean that he feels that the American people can no longer be free thinkers and that the gov’t. His gov’t would now filter and control what we are allowed to know; only dispensing information that they felt was appropriate? Depending on which news station you plug into, some of this is and has already happened with the left-wing media spinning their propaganda to sway the truth. What’s next the Vulcan mind-melt?

Now there is a full-court press to attack conservative talk-radio with some BS title of the “fair-doctrine”. In fact, during a recent Q&A session with Bill Clinton on a Latin radio show, he was asked if there should be more enforcement of media accountability by the government for the voices of opposition. (Translation-conservative talk-radio). Well who ever asked the question was clearly not familiar with the First Amendment (Right to free speech) and the fact that the constitution, our constitution prohibits such action! You know Karl Marx (remember him- the father of socialism), once wrote “The only true peace is in the elimination of all opposition to socialism”.

Don’t want to sound “chicken-littlish”, but a blind man could see the comparisons here. Forget the Vulcan mind-melt maybe we should go straight to “Invasion of the Body-Snatchers”? Or maybe we are all stuck in a lost episode of the “Twilight Zone” and when we wake up Ronald Reagan will be in the Oval office?

I’m not sayin…but I’m just sayin….keep an eye on those railroad tracks to see when that big red train is comin…wouldn’t want to be blindsided… (Anymore than we already are)….

And oh by the way, if you get a chance take a look at all of the wonderful programs our money will pay for in the supposed stimulus package…looks like the only stimulation here is when this is rammed up our butts!

Comrades,

Richard

Pelosi Just Couldn't Help Herself!

Pelosi Just Couldn't Help Herself!

Nancy Pelosi once again showed her true-colors as the ill-spirited, conniving nit-wit she really is. How could she standup time and time again and spew the lies she does in the name of positive actions that have the American people’s interests at heart. I’m not sure she even believes herself sometimes seeing that what she says is so far-fetched. I really think that they are making this stuff up as the go. They remind me of the character Jon Lovitz used to play On Saturday Night Live ("Tommy Flanagan, The Pathological Liar").

They can’t help themselves when they think they have an opportunity to take a swipe at Bush. No matter what is at stake! These are the same peace-loving, understanding and socially conscious individuals who want to save the American Dream from the hands of the evil “right-wing” idealists! As long as they get their way. But when then don’t they take hate and resentment to new lows. How can they continue to blatantly ignore the facts like they just don’t exist? It’s absolutely amazing…Where do you get glasses like that? I really want some…

And what’s with Barney Frank? He looks and sounds like a rodeo clown. (A gay rodeo clown!)

You know nothing would do my heart any better than to see “W” on his last day in office go to the House and really show them what “trickle-down” economics really means by standing up and pissing on all of them for 8 years to total BS….

Libs Crying Foul!

Libs crying Foul!

Oh my God, things have gotten heated at McCain rallies where citizens are calling out names vented towards the anointed-one! And the media is all over it…How dare they, who are these mean people? How dare they sling personal attacks?

Well, well, well, another case of Libs forgetting history. For 8 years they have done nothing else put just that, tearing at the character of George Bush in any form or fashion possible. I have never in my life seen such personal hatred for a person as these people (especially the media), have displayed toward the President of the United States. Whether you agree with his political policies or not at least have some respect for the office! These are the same people who claim that the Republicans are mean-spirited and they are the understanding, compassionate ones. Their whole existence is a freaking lie!

Again we can do what ever we want, when we want, how we want as long as it benefits us. Anything else is out of bounds. Please… these people make me sick; they squeal like baby pigs whose Mama just took her tit away!

I guess the Messiah will ride his donkey into town and we are supposed to lay palm branches at his feet…

And They Hate The Rich!

And they Hate the Rich!
9-26-2008

It’s amazing how all we are hearing are tales of the evil rich who need to be taxed more and give more to the “little people”. And how big corporations are the enemy who need to be brought down and their evil CEO’s hung in the streets by angry mobs who are entitled to some of their wealth just because they don’t have as much!

Well at least in a nut-shell that is what Mr. Obama states during his many speeches (well maybe without the CEO hanging part), but the rest is close. And in this political world we now live in it seems that “close” is good enough.

Now let’s see, we want to create more jobs for the middle-class and increase their wealth by taxing the evil corporations. Yet under Mr. Obama’s plan or at least how I understand it, the more I make the more I am penalized with taxes which forces me as a small business owner to not have as much incentive to fulfill my dream of making my company one of those huge evil corporations.

How is that if we tax corporations more that poor people get rich? Hey I’m no Alan Greenspan or Donald Radacike, but as I understand basic economics big corporations really don’t pay taxes. They just pass along any tax increases in their prices (that the little people eventually pay for), or they reduce their labor force by eliminating jobs or outsourcing them to countries we can’t understand on the phone, until they offset the costs of the additional taxes. So in the long run, we have less jobs and high prices on consumer goods and I guess this is going to make the poor rich?

You know the last time I looked; it was the big, middle and small corporations that were providing livelihoods to American families. It was their ability to compete in markets and develop and manufacture goods and services vital to the USA and all of its inhabitants. I don’t know of any jobs being handed out down at the methadone clinic or by people unable to run themselves let alone companies!

From the beginning of time there has always been the “Haves and Have-nots”. It’s just the way it is and nobody said it would be fair or easy. I’ve spent the majority of my life more on the “Have-nots” side but that doesn’t stop me from trying to cross the line.

See the list below:
5 Richest Members of Congress
Four out of the five richest members are Democrats
Posted September 26, 2008
1. Rep. Jane Harman (D, Calif.): $215.11 million
2. Sen. Herb Kohl (D, Wis.): $215.85 million
3. Sen. John Kerry (D, Mass.): $213.8 million
4. Rep. Darrell Issa (R, Calif.): $158.58 million
5. Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D, W.Va.): $79.4 million
Note the date and the number of Dems vs. Republicans. I wonder if any of these people got their fortunes from what might be called an “evil corporation” and I wonder how many benefited from “8 years of failed economic policies” from Bush that gave them tax breaks? I don’t recall hearing anything about how the refused to accept it and gave more to the little people. I will bet that each of these individuals listed paid less tax corporately and personally than you and I.

And you know what; I don’t really care as long as they ran ethical and successful companies that because of the tax breaks were able to provide livelihoods to American workers, goods and services at a reasonable price and continued to contribute to the positive growth of America. I have said from the beginning that the Libs are fighting the wrong enemy. They want to tear down the things in this country that have made it great and yet at the same time reap the benefits of the same. Someone please tell me how that is done? And also how has this “Marxist” approach worked for the “little people” of Cuba, Venezuela & China?

ACORN

ACORN

10-13-2008

I found out today that each year the US government gives ACORN $500million per year! And in fact this contribution or what ever the hell it is was passed into US law! What the hell?? I don’t remember saying it was ok for my tax dollars to fund some corrupt whack-job left-wing activist group. Can I amend all of my previous tax returns to account for this contribution??? (Not you Karl). This contribution was even mandated in the $700billion bailout that was just rammed down our throats by those idiots on capital hill.

Remember this is the very same group that is at the root of voter fraud in every election in grotesque proportions and the very same group that the messiah himself worked for as their attorney and trainer. He was the one who trained them to go “shakedown” financial institutions and force them to give “bad” loans to a lot of people who couldn’t and wouldn’t pay their rent but felt entitled to own a home.

I tell you everyday Obama looks more and more like Castro or Chavez who embrace socialism to their benefit. Have you heard the nonsense he is spewing at rallies in the last few days to his faithful about the economy? He’ll do anything to pan the Bush administration and all he states is gloom and doom. Never are there any specific plans to get us out of this mess other than let the gov’t. control all of the banks and own the businesses.

Let me see all the businesses owned by the government…um…that doesn’t sound too much like socialism does it???

Gather your pitchforks and torches…it may be time to storm the castle!!!

What Started It...

What Starting It…

You know this is pretty good timing since I have been watching TV switching between Raffa Nadal providing some young up-start with an ass-whoppin the likes of which he’s never seen and the DNC in Denver. I’m not quite sure which one has the least rewarding entertainment value but at least with the Open I can look to see what shoes their wearing!

Either way through all of my channel flipping I must admit that I felt that watching the DNC was something that I should do since it does have an effect on us. Boy was I wrong…soon after I actually began to pay attention to all of “mouth-pieces” the networks paraded onto the screen I started to not feel so good and began to wonder if it was the subject matter or that bowl of Moose-tracks I had eaten?

But like a train wreck I couldn’t turn away. I had to watch and listen in amazement to entertainers and Hollywood types and “has-been” political advisors in bad makeup offer up all of their expert opinions.
However I must say that if I am going to watch stuff like this I do watch it on FOX because if I happen to see it on CNN I start to feel really really bad!

Anyway, is it just me or does Allan Combs look like an alien? Are he and James Carville related and the offspring of some intergalactic space monster?

My whole point to this is Oh My God! Are these people for real? They can’t even be honest to each other from one minute to the next yet they want all of us to believe as they move a nation. Where’s the Kool-Aid?

Please tell me that the American public (outside of 80,000 people in Invesco Field) is not that stupid as to believe all of the hot-air coming from the fanatical love fest going on in Denver. As I write this the Messiah has taken the stage. I have to admit that I was a little disappointed with his entry. Certainly someone of his magical abilities and purveyor of change could have had an entry far more spectacular to add to the euphoric make-believe world these people live in …after all this is OZ isn’t it?
(Just don’t look behind the curtain).

All I can say as I listen is “This Brother’s Trippin”!

Maybe it’s time for more Moose Tracks?

The Truth About Poll #'s...

The truth about Poll #’s

I just read an article on-line published by none other than Newsweek about Obama’s poll numbers. (Now I typically don’t read anything from Newsweek given their extreme liberal slant), but it was right there on my homepage just a click away so I did it…I clicked.

The article was titled Honeymoon In Hell” and rambled on about how Obama has had the worst “honeymoon” period of any president since FDR but through it all his poll numbers are still favorable.

Now tell me when haven’t his poll numbers been favorable? He had a 73% approval rating 2 months prior to even becoming president due to the “slobbering love-fest” created by the media. What were they measuring? His choice of ties each morning, his shooting % during his daily basketball pick-up game or how he craftily snuck smoke breaks in between interviews?

What??? All I know is that we hear about poll #’s and are expected to believe that everything will be alright just because some arbitrary # is flashed before us & they say it is a high #; and oh by the way they polled 1200 people out of 260mm and they were representative of how the nation feels. I guess if these 1200 think all is ok then by golly I should too!

Nonsense, what do these numbers really mean? The media and in this case Newsweek can pick whatever numbers they want to make their point. Does anybody ever really give the details of how all of this data was really obtained and who these 1200 people were? Considering the source and their affinity for the liberal point of view why should we believe anything they say. You see this is coming from a group that on a regular basis makes it a habit to ignore real facts of history when it does not put them or their beliefs in a favorable light and shed all accountability only to place blame on anyone or anything else! (Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, et al).

Look #’s are just that #’s, kind of like speeches…just words…they’re not measurable actions that really translate into sustainable results and recently we’ve had a lot of both. (#’s & speeches) and little results. The truth is we have seen record losses of personal wealth in this country like never before and spending by the Gov’t at unfathomable levels.

This administration has attacked successful companies for being just that successful and has done all they can to have the general public make these companies feel guilty for doing so. They have called out certain companies who in their eyes have a disproportionate base of privilege between management and workers. Because after all the workers should have an equal share! Now you have heard me condemn those who have failed and then reaped huge payouts, but for successful companies to be brought down is ludicrous. How will this administration ever have success in growing jobs for “Mainstreet” workers if all they do is tear at the very fiber of corporate success that provides such jobs? I just don’t get it???

One industry that has been hit hard by this is the hotel & hospitality industry. They have seen severe declines in business meeting bookings across all fronts because even companies that can afford to have training or reward meetings for their employees are canceling or not booking travel because they don’t want to feel the scorn of the Obama administration or be inappropriately singled out as the greedy evil empire. The end result is that the hotels have to cut staffs since their business & revenue levels can’t accommodate the overhead. There are fewer rooms to clean or fewer meals to prepare and fewer cars to park. So who did Obama really hurt? It wasn’t the high level executive but the hourly employee who he claims to so vehemently fight for! Now you tell me if practices like this are what this country needs to pick itself up?

Oh by the way, there was one bright spot at the very end of the Newsweek article about poll #’s that was worth mentioning. It was about how Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid have less than favorable poll #’s even amongst democrats for how they go about their business. People felt that they are more concerned with their own agendas rather than getting things done. Since it was in Newsweek I guess it must be true…

And based on this author’s polling numbers…he thinks that they’re both BONEHEADS!

I WANT- I WANT-I WANT

As I sat in my seat awaiting the exhausting :47 minute flight to Florida on Wednesday, I observed a plethora of people from all walks of life and among them a few Obama tee-shirts and ball-caps thus I felt inspired to spew my thoughts recalling some events that I had heard earlier in the week…

I WANT- I WANT-I WANT

Although I have spent the majority of my life more closely aligned with the “Have-Nots” rather than the “Haves”, I have never expected or more so demanded that the US Government provide for me. Since the age of 16, I have worked to provide for myself; yes I will admit that I was blessed with the help of a supporting family, but none the less I worked. And there were times when there wasn’t quite enough for all of the “extras” in life I desired. But you know that’s just the way it was and I continued to work to fill those gaps…sometimes succeeding sometimes not!

Now we are in this huge economic mess which really got its roots from the collapse of the housing markets. Where we now are learning that many banks were forced, yes I said forced to provide mortgages to people who had no business getting them but felt entitled! After all, why shouldn’t they be able to have a piece of the American dream? We also found out that some banks were lending money for mortgage loans that they didn’t even have!

What started this rant was that yesterday (Tuesday) I saw this huge protest rally by ACORN against banks to try to stop them from foreclosing on delinquent mortgages in default most likely given to people who couldn’t afford them in the first place. Now the practice of creditors taking back collateral that secured loans is nothing new. This even goes down to your local pawn shops except for the fact that they take possession of it from day 1. Where did all of this “entitlement” come from? The mentality that these people are owed something just because other people have more is absurd! Heck I’d like to drive a Porsche, but I can’t afford one so I drive a Ford. Have I missed something here in the way I was raised? I learned a long time ago that I needed to provide for myself because if I waited for someone else to do it I would starve! Gee my parents who taught me this must have been visionaries?

Why is it that these groups of people and you know who you are have it instilled in them that they deserve this and that just because they are part of some ethnic group or socio-economic strata? And for 1 minute have these people ever thought of doing something, anything for themselves yet in their mind they deserve everything hard-working people have earned just because they want it. I heard an interesting tidbit the other day that 40k people in NYC pay almost 50% of the taxes for the city. Now think about how staggering that is considering that NYC has about 10mm people!

Now I not saying that home ownership should be afforded to only a select few, but for Gods sake at least meet the minimum qualification standards. I’ve spent a good part of my adult life in the lending business and have always had a set of criteria to follow when extending credit. Why now or over the last 4-5 years have these practices been striped away for a certain few? And not only that the removal of these guidelines has been endorsed by the very people we entrusted to keep out country on a sound path…the US Congress! I can always remember my Mom saying that when this happened “the horse is out of the barn because the door was left wide-open” and now these hypocrites have the nerve to stand up and question how we got here when they themselves took the barn door off of the hinges!

As a small business owner I would love to be
able to subsidize my shortfalls in cash flow with a line of credit, but guess what I may not be able to meet all of the criteria to qualify so I don’t have one. And I haven’t seen any banks lining up to give me free $$$$ without qualifying just because I want it.

We are on a dangerous and slippery slope here by re-enforcing this “do-nothing and the Gov’t will provide mentality”. Instead of this administration attempting to correct the problem for future generations they are perpetuating it by endorsing it on a widespread basis to ensure their power-base!

Remember one of the basic principles of socialism is to get & keep the masses impoverished, powerless & totally dependent on the belief that the Gov’t. will take care of them. The fundamental flaw in this whole premise is that the Gov’t. doesn’t take care of them…they only take care of themselves at the expense of them…and in this equation those running the Gov’t. live high & mighty just like the “so-called rich” that they have convinced the masses to hate!

How are they any different? Just because they say they are & we shouldn’t notice their lives of privilege. If they are so concerned with helping the little people they would give up a little & suffer with the “great un-washed” (to quote Harry Reed), but no it’s a case of Do what I say but don’t do what I do!

Haven’t we heard that somewhere back in history?

Something about eating cake!!!
